Registration for Youth Football and Cheer Aug 9-11, 4:30-7, Jim Barnette Park, Kiwanis Shelter #1

Message from the WFYFL Board of Directors:

The Winchester-Frederick County Youth Football Board of Directors would like to welcome you to the 2010 football season. Our program has been going strong for over 45 years. The philosophy of the league has always remained the same:

“Teach the basic fundamentals of football, team spirit, and good sportsmanship.”

This year we have over 300 youths playing on seven teams. The 11-13 year olds will play 7 regular season games with the top four teams continuing to the playoffs. The 9 and 10 year olds will play 7 regular season games. Our goal once again is to give everyone a chance to learn the basic fundamentals and play competitively against one another.

Our program is totally volunteer with our coaches devoting their time and efforts to teaching the proper fundamentals of football, as well as good sportsmanship. If it were not for these individuals, our program could not survive.

We are solely funded by local businesses, civic clubs, and both the Winchester and Frederick County Parks Departments. Their contributions over the many years have enabled us to provide the best equipment possible for the league. In 1992, we were able to purchase a new scoreboard, thanks to the local Eagles Lodge #824. Our program could not flourish without their financial support.

Finally, we would like to thank the parents for their support. The board recognizes the commitment and time that each family gives in which to make our program a success.

We wish all the kids "GOOD LUCK!" for the 2010 season.

Sincerely,

WFYFL Board of Directors
